Building sustainable futures with young people in disadvantaged rural communities

A methodological webinar on community work with disadvantaged rural youth

Online professional event – Thursday, 24 September 2026, 14:30 CEST

At the closing webinar of the Find Your Future! project, we will present the methodological process we developed through our work with disadvantaged young people living in poverty in rural communities.

The methodology consists of four interconnected elements: local research and resource mapping, digital storytelling through a video-making workshop, international study visits, and local community and future-planning workshops.

What will we present?

During the webinar, we will show how these elements are connected, what we learned from applying them, and how they can be adapted and used together in other rural communities.

The approach aims to help young people better understand their own environment, recognise local resources and build a stronger connection with their communities. The project places particular emphasis on strengthening local communities, the inclusion of young people with disabilities, the relationship between people and their environment, and exploring opportunities for building sustainable lives in the long term.

The webinar will present the project results as a transferable methodological framework that can be applied by youth, community, faith-based and civil society organisations.

Who is the webinar for?

The event is primarily intended for organisations and professionals working with disadvantaged young people in rural communities, as well as those interested in community participation, development based on local resources, inclusion, social justice and sustainability.

The webinar is organised by Csillagliget Association with the support of the Our Daily Bread Network.
Our project partners will also share their perspectives and experiences:
CUDV Draga – Slovenia
Civitas Foundation – Romania
